JS, Central Asia

May 2026

Greetings Friends,

Hello from Central Asia! This year we will celebrate 4 years of living and working among unreached people groups in the region.

Our medical clinic has been open for 3 years and has grown significantly since I arrived as the only physician. We now have 5 medical providers and 6 support staff. Based on 3 goals of financial sustainability, educational excellence, and spiritual development, our clinic has served our community with holistic, evidence-based care. We are accomplishing our goals by remaining net positive financially, hosting family medicine residents for clinical rotations, regularly volunteer lecturing at the local medical school, and partnering with local pastors in spiritual outreach to remote, mountain valleys through our free mobile clinic program.

With all that activity, we are praying to add an outpatient surgery center to our clinic. The first step in that process is offering endoscopy services.

As a means of providing funding for the initial endoscopy equipment cost of $31,000, we are thankful to be partnering with Southwestern Medical Clinic Foundation (www.SWMCF.org), a Christian medical missions foundation based in southwest Michigan. They have generously offered a matching gift of up to $7,500 to our Endoscopy Project. Would you prayerfully consider helping us meet our financial goals?

Offering upper and lower endoscopy procedures gives us opportunities to train local surgeons and providers in modern endoscopy methods. It will also allow us to begin cancer screenings and timely diagnosis of advanced peptic ulcer disease (PUD) and esophagitis. Finally, lower endoscopy is not currently offered in our region and will ease burden for patients who would otherwise need to undertake costly travel and medical expenses to the capital city of our country. Ultimately, this will allow us to gain additional recognition in our city as a leader in medical care, diagnostics, and training. And Lord willing, it will open more doors for us to interact and share the hope we have within with those around us who have never had the opportunity to hear before.

Thanks so much for considering partnering with us. We are so thankful for all the support and prayers you provide us!

Blessings!
