Mbingo Baptist Hospital

March 5, 2025

Friends,

Thank you for inquiring as to how SWMCF could be of help to our ministry at Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Cameroon. The most important thing I am focusing on currently is to obtain an automated tissue processor. When we started the Pathology laboratory in 2010, the electrical supply to the hospital was very erratic and I was unwilling to purchase an automated processor for fear it would be spoiled by the current fluctuations. So, we have been using a manual method of tissue processing for almost 15 years. But we are now on reliable hydroelectric power, and it is time to proceed with upgrading to automated processing. This will improve the quality of the slides we produce.

I estimate that it will take approximately $40,000 to purchase, ship and install the processor. A fund is being sponsored by our sending agency, North American Baptists, Inc. (NAB), so I would not expect SWMCF to bring in the whole amount. But whatever portion of the total that can be provided through SWMCF is needed and will be greatly appreciated.

Finally, I want to express my sincere gratitude and give thanks and praise to God for our friends at SWMCF and for the many projects that have been sponsored throughout the time of our service in Cameroon. The Mbingo Baptist Hospital Pathology laboratory would be inferior to what it is today if not for SWMCF.

Mbingo Baptist Hospital has an opportunity to partner with Southwestern Medical Clinic Foundation to raise these needed funds. Southwestern Medical Clinic Foundation is graciously offering a Matching Gift campaign of up to $5,000 for the Pathology equipment.
